This event is an opportunity for several activities, including BREWING! At our last campout, several people brought their brewing rigs and we also did two 30-gallon collaborative brews, totaling around 80 gallons of beer made on-site. We can do something similar, but if you don’t wish to brew, that’s OK, you can observe and learn from those brewing, share some of your latest batch, enjoy the Pal Camp grounds, and even camp out on Saturday night. This event was very fun the last time we pulled it off!
This is a family-friendly event, and friends of club members are welcome, but it is by invitation only, and not open to the general public. Also, we will be asking anyone attending who is not yet a dues paying member (or related to one) to donate some cash toward the cost of renting the camp. (HHB will be paying $200 to rent the camp for one day.)
This event is BYOB and you should bring your own food, and perhaps something to share. The camp has a lodge with indoor women’s and men’s bathrooms and a kitchen, creek access and creek-side picnic area with fire pits and tables, another firepit up hill from the creek, a nice redwood grove, a large grassy field, and plenty of room to spread out for camping. Parking is somewhat limited, so carpool if you can. Also, there really isn’t much room for RVs and no easy turn around, so please plan on tent camping. (A small camper, van, or similar should be fine.) There are also residential neighbors close by, so we need to keep things mellow for them.
